In recent months, AEW has made headlines in the pro wrestling world due to locker room issues. Several backstage brawls and verbal altercations occurred in the span of the past two years. In some cases, wrestlers were suspended or fired.
Swerve Strickland appeared on the Smooth Vega podcast, where he was asked about backstage morale in AEW. Strickland said the following:
“Morale has been excellent. I haven’t seen any issues. I haven’t seen issues when morale was said to be down. I had a good time, and the people I worked with had a great time. Name a workplace that doesn’t have people having issues with what’s going on at their job in their position. People want to get better and move up the card. People want to get more TV time and to be the champion. People want a match with him or a match with her. That’s everywhere.”
Last night on AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland faced Adam Page to determine the No. 1 contender for the AEW World Championship. The match ended in a time-limit draw. Tony Schiavone then announced that Samoa Joe will defend his title against Strickland and Page in a three-way match at AEW Revolution at the Greensboro Coliseum on March 3rd.
