Last month Stephanie McMahon announced that she was leaving WWE to take care of her family. However, she did not mention the reason for her sudden decision but a lot of rumors circulated online after her departure. Some reported that Stephanie’s father, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is the reason why she left WWE.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter discussed the situation regarding Stephanie McMahon. Meltzer noted that WWE and MLW’s ongoing anti-trust lawsuit is the reason for Stephanie’s departure.
While we don’t have the answer for any of this, and within WWE this was heavily denied and again noted it was her decision and she was not forced out, inside of wrestling more and more people are bringing up the MLW lawsuit since she was directly named as the person who made the call to FOX which MLW claimed led to an agreed upon deal with Tubi being canceled. But something clearly changed. When they knew she was leaving, literally hours earlier, they put her on the Board of Directors, and even after this, she is still on the Board of Directors. She could have very easily when taking her leave also left her Board of Directors position and she did not do that, nor did anyone force her out.
WWE was sued by MLW in January 2022. Many who have read the lawsuit know that Stephanie McMahon has informed FOX to cancel the Tubi TV and MLW streaming deal which is the reason why MLW is suing WWE.
