Last week on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler brutally attacked Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi during a backstage interview. As a result, Rodriguez suffered a broken arm, which was a storyline injury.
However, Rodriguez teamed with Shotzi to wrestle Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a Tag Team match on SmackDown. In the closing moment of the match, Rousey put an arm bar on Rodriguez to secure the victory. Later, WWE announced that Rodriguez would be out of action for 4-6 weeks.
This past Saturday, Ronda Rousey successfully retained her SmackDown Women’s Championship by defeating Shotzi at the Survivor Series premium live event.
Wrestling News has reported that WWE is planning a match between Ronda Rousey and Raquel Rodriguez for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble PLE.
Also, Wrestling News noted that Ronda Rousey is scheduled to be defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39 which means Rousey would retain the title at Royal Rumble. Currently, there’s no report on the creative plans for Rodriguez after Royal Rumble PLE.
