The 36th annual SummerSlam premium live event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The third match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar is set to take place at the event.
The storyline began on the April 3rd episode of Monday Night RAW when Lesnar attacked Rhodes in the main event. The American Nightmare picked up the victory in the first match at Backlash and The Beast was able to win the second match at Night of Champions.
As of now, WWE’s creative team is discussing many ideas for Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar III. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer stated they have discussed a bull rope match.
“Lesnar vs. Rhodes III will be one of the SummerSlam main events. There has been a lot of talk about adding a stipulation and one of the ideas is a bullrope match. That is not official, and there are multiple other ideas for that match on the table, and no final decision has been made.”
The bull rope matches are a lot similar to Dog Collar matches. Both superstars were attached to the opposite ends of a 14-foot-long bull rope and the winner will be decided by pinfall or submission. Competitors can use bull rope and a cowbell that is attached to the rope as a weapon.
