The AEW locker room has been divided into two teams following CM Punk’s comment on The Young Bucks during the All Out post-show media scrum. Yesterday, Steve Muehlhausen of DAZN reported that Punk and Young Buck had a backstage fight regarding Punk’s comment in the press conference.
Fightful Select reported that CM Punk started the whole incident by throwing punches at Matt Jackson.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that CM Punk’s trainer Ace Steel who worked as a producer in AEW also involved in the backstage fight. Meltzer noted that Steel threw a chair at Nick Jackson and it hit his eye. Meltzer added that Steel grabbed Kenny Omega’s hair and bit him.
On Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer discussed AEW backstage fight. He said that the persons involved in the incident are not allowed to talk about anything due to “pending legal issues.”
Nobody’s allowed to talk or wants to talk because, well, they’re not allowed to talk because there’s pending legal issues based on what happened. It is not a work at all, and you don’t have legal issues, and police officers run in there…it’s not a work. That’s for sure.
There’s legal people involved. There’s a lot of legal situations involved, and it can be very messy. I think that’s one of the reasons why no one in AEW is allowed to talk about it and from a company standpoint, no one is talking, but they’re gonna have to at some point address it.
