Seth Rollins competed on the May 8th episode of Monday Night RAW, where he advanced to the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Since then, Rollins didn’t appear on WWE television. Therefore, WWE aired interview segments of Rollins.
The Visionary has joined MCU and was spotted on the set of “Captain America: New World Order” in the past two weeks. Recently, a rumor circulated that WWE management has been hesitant to make Rollins the new World Heavyweight Champion due to a potential career in Hollywood.
An Executive of WWE has issued a statement to Fightful Select and clarified what the company thinks about Seth Rollins. WWE has a positive reaction to Rollins joining the MCU movie.
“I’m not saying who is going to win this weekend, but the idea that this is anything but a positive is an unrealistic way of thinking. I can’t speak to how those in charge a year ago would have felt, but now it’s seen as a positive, especially with Endeavor aboard. It also wasn’t a surprise. Colby (Lopez, Seth Rollins) is an exceptional talent and we expect these opportunities to come his way. We were made aware that the situation was happening, and he’s already done filming. We had planned out the sit-down interviews to make up for his absence and it’s full speed ahead.”
Seth Rollins is scheduled to face AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday at Night of Champions. The winner will be considered the next World Heavyweight Champion since Randy Orton in 2013.
