Two weeks ago, Sean O’Malley lost his Bantamweight Championship to Merab Dvalishvili via unanimous decision at UFC 306 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Umar Nurmagomedov is the No. 2 ranked contender in the bantamweight division. However, Dvalishvili stated that he is open to a rematch against O’Malley in November.
“I hear O’Malley thinks he won the fight and is looking for a rematch. If he wants it he can have it. Let’s do it November 16th at the Garden and then I’ll still defend the title against whoever the UFC wants me to fight next. What do you think? @SugaSeanMMA”
The former Bantamweight Champion stated he will undergo hip surgery on October 3. O’Malley told Dvalishvili to defend the title against Umar.
“Getting surgery Oct 3rd. Fought you with one hip and still beat you. Round 1,3,5 . I’m the champ. Fight Umnar.”
Umar Nurmagomedov responded to Dvalishvili as follows:
