Last week, Rey Mysterio defended his United States Championship against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. In the closing moment, Logan’s teammate gave him brass knuckles. However, it slipped out of Logan’s hand. Santos Escobar then picked up the brass knuckles and unintentionally put it on the ring apron. The Maverick took the brass knuckles and hit Rey to win the US Title.
Last night, Rey Mysterio and the fellow LWO members kicked off SmackDown. Carlito interrupted the WWE Hall of Famer and blamed Santos for losing Rey’s championship. Santos left the ring.
After Carlito vs. Bobby Lashley’s bout, Santos Escobar attacked his mentor, Rey Mysterio. “It was supposed to be me and you,” Santos told Rey during the segment.
