Last February, Rossy Ogawa, the Executive Producer of Stardom, was fired from the company. Bushiroad (Stardom’s parent company) stated that Ogawa has poached wrestlers and the employees of the promotion.
Rossy Ogawa started his new pro wrestling promotion, Marigold, in April. Before launching it, Ogawa attended WrestleMania 40 and met several WWE officials. Marigold’s first event took place on May 20th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
In an interview with NumberWeb, Rossy Ogawa said that Paul “Triple H” Levesque told him to start a new promotion.
“Triple H told me, ‘I want to help you with whatever you want to do, whether it’s with Stardom or as a solo artist.’ He gave me the push I needed.”
Rossy Ogawa stated that he was uncomfortable in Stardom, and Bushiroad used him as a decoration. Ogawa also stated that he didn’t want to interfere in AEW’s business with Bushiroad.
“I was starting to feel uncomfortable in Stardom. This isn’t what I was told, I couldn’t show my true potential. I was like a decoration, told to just sit here. Under my predecessor’s one-man system, people said that Ogawa was getting in the way with the AEW thing, and that’s the general perception, but that’s not true.”
