Ronda Rousey is one of the most polarizing figures in MMA and pro wrestling. Rousey had an undefeated streak in MMA before being knocked out by Holly Holm at UFC 193. The loss significantly affected her MMA career. Rousey last competed in the Octagon at UFC 207, where she lost to Amanda Nunes via TKO in the first round.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet recently appeared on High Performance to promote her book “Our Fight.” In the book, she wrote that MMA fans hate her because she can’t do much in the octagon anymore. When asked about it, Rousey said it was accurate.
“Ask the MMA media [why what I gave wasn’t enough] – they’re the ones saying it, that I was a fraud, and I was hyped, and I was exposed, and I was never anything and just lucky, and all of these things, that I was ungracious or I was a loser or every other thing that I just assume at this point because I don’t take the time to read it.”
Rousey said the MMA media has vilified her and she hasn’t attended UFC events for fear of getting booed by fans.
“Everything that could be said that was negative was said, and I feel really vilified by MMA media at this point and not really welcome back, which is why I haven’t gone to a UFC fight since [I left]. I’m pretty sure if I walked into the arena, I’d be booed. That’s how it feels.”
