Earlier this month, Rhea Ripley became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion by defeating Charlotte Flair on night one of WrestleMania 39. Since then, Ripley didn’t compete on WWE television.
PWInsider reported that Zelina Vega is scheduled to challenge Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Backlash. Vega last competed on the March 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where she teamed up with Santos Escobar to face Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley.
WWE’s next premium live event, Backlash is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 6th at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As of now, WWE has officially announced two matches for the premium live event.
