Rhea Ripley has become one of the most dominant women’s wrestlers in the modern era. Ripley has also been able to captivate the audience with her impressive look. Therefore, she is often compared to the late great Chyna, who paved the way for women’s wrestling in the 1990s.
The 26-year-old is the current Women’s World Champion in WWE. Ripley’s on-screen relationship with Dominik Mysterio reminds everyone of the Eddie Guerrero and Chyna storyline.
In an interview with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, Rhea Ripley commented on the comparisons to Chyna.
“Hunter [Triple H] definitely likes to put me next to Chyna. We didn’t actually have… Like a sit-down conversation about how my career would pan out. We sort of just let it all grow, in a way, naturally…
[Chyna] paved the way in the way that she got in the ring with the men, and she proved that women can beat up men and be just as good as them. Where I’m sort of following on with that, but I’m trying to make my own name for myself at the same time.”
