This past Saturday, WWE held a press conference from the Dawg House Saloon & Sportsbook in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the press conference, Triple H announced that Roman Reigns will face Logan Paul for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel on November 5th at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Reigns and Logan’s storyline began following Reigns appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. The Tribal Chief discussed a wide range of topics during the podcast. However, as soon as Roman Reigns left, Logan Paul challenged Reigns to a match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

On Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer revealed the reason for WWE booked Roman Reigns vs. Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Meltzer noted that the Crown Prince wants celebrity matches in Saudi Arabia to gain media attention around the world.

“He’s a big deal in Saudi Arabia, he’s a big deal to the Saudi Arabian prince and that’s the whole thing of these shows.

Nothing to do with (selling tickets). Tickets in Saudi Arabia mean nothing. It’s not even part of the game. Of course, TV numbers whatever. If he draws younger viewers, that’s good but it’s not a play for TV ratings.

It is a play because the prince wants celebrity fights in Saudi Arabia to build the name in the media of Saudi Arabia and Logan Paul will get more of the type of press that Saudi Arabia is looking for than Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins.

That’s what Saudi Arabia is there for. Saudi Arabia is for matches that the prince wants that will get press attention around the world for Saudi Arabia so this is a great match for that.“

WWE has no plans to drop the titles from Roman Reigns this year. Therefore, this bout is only happening because of the Saudi Crown prince’s demand.
