Kazuchika Okada’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expires on January 31st. However, Okada is set to compete on February 11th in Osaka and February 23rd & 24th in Sapporo, as planned.
Today, Pro Wrestling Tees announced that they were told to remove all the merchandise related to Kazuchika Okada from the site. They added that fans have 12 hours left to buy any Okada merchandise from the site.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has yet to sign with any promotion. Tony Khan has a high chance of signing Okada to All Elite Wrestling. After Pro Wrestling Tees’ announcement, many fans assumed that Okada would be joining WWE. It’s because WWE already has an official website to sell merchandise.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer provided clarification on Kazuchika Okada and Pro Wrestling Tees’ situation.
“On the Okada front, the Pro Wrestling Tees thing regards no longer being able to sell New Japan merchandise of his. It’s not a sign of going to WWE. It’s not a sign of going to AEW either.”
