Reason For Derrick Lewis Fight Canceled At UFC Edmonton

This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night is scheduled to take place at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada. Derrick Lewis was supposed to face Jhonata Diniz in a heavyweight bout at the show. However, the fight had to be canceled.

On Friday, Black Beast stepped on the scale at the official weigh-in. However, he was absent at the ceremonial weigh-in.

UFC announced that the fight between Derrick Lewis and Jhonata Diniz has been canceled. The company added that Lewis is dealing with a medical issue.

“Due to a medical issue (non weight-cut related) with heavyweight Derrick Lewis, his bout against Jhonata Diniz has been canceled from this weekend’s event.”
