On Wednesday, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced that Blagoy Ivanov has been suspended for 22 months for violating the PFL anti-doping policy. Ivanov has tested positive for an anabolic agent after an out-of-competition sample was collected on March 28.
Blagoy Ivanov received a reduced suspension due to his full cooperation. A USADA official stated Ivanov’s “urine sample was analyzed using a specialized test that differentiates between anabolic androgenic steroids naturally produced by the body and prohibited anabolic agents of external origin.”
The PFL heavyweight will be eligible to compete in the octagon from January 28, 2026.
Blagoy Ivanov (19-7, 1 NC) last competed at PFL 1 on April 4, 2024, where he lost to Sergei Bilostenniy via unanimous decision.
