Paul Wight (formerly known as Big Show in WWE) joined All Elite Wrestling in 2021. Wight made his AEW in-ring debut against QT Marshall at All Out. He has competed six times in Tony Khan’s company so far.
In an interview with Jack Curry of The Yes Network, Paul Wight was asked about leaving WWE for AEW. Wight said he was grateful to be able to work for the biggest company for so many years in his career, and joining AEW was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.
“It’s been fantastic. I was blessed to work for a big company [WWE] for a lot of years all over the world. Now, at my stage of the game, to find myself useful in a company [AEW] that allows me to spread a lot of my knowledge to the younger talent, get a chance to get on the microphone every now and then and enhance them, help their characters along, and then get in the ring and mix it up. It’s probably the single greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m blessed, grateful, and thankful for the fans [who] still like to see me do my thing.”
Paul Wight last competed on January 29th at Jericho Cruise, where he, Chris Jericho, and Mike Bailey defeated the Don Callis Family in a Trios match.
