Last Saturday, Pat McAfee made his return and joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves to do the commentary at Royal Rumble PLE. McAfee also entered the Men’s Rumble match at No.22. He spent 38 seconds and was eliminated himself.
Michael Cole and Pat McAfee provided the commentary this past Monday on RAW. Cole said that McAfee will once again be his broadcast partner going forward. The former NFL punter received positive and negative reactions for his commentary.
On The Pat McAfee Show, the 36-year-old responded to fans’ criticism of him talking during promos.
“I saw some wrestling Marks who…I too, Mark, by the way, that is not a shot. Wrestling fans, I will say, because that term has been slanderized and everything like that, I saw them say a couple [of] times, ‘Is this guy gonna talk through everybody’s promos?’ It’s hard for me not to go, ‘Ooh,’ when somebody says something. There were some good words spoken last night. There were tears in the ring last night. It was awesome being back. I gotta figure it out though, again. It’s such a different flow and beat than anything else. [I had] a blast. I had so much fun out there.”
