Last month, Mickie James was pulled from the Sacrifice pay-per-view and Multiverse United event due to injuries. James revealed that she has been dealing with three broken rib caps, a slight shoulder tear, and possibly a torn pectoral muscle. However, she was able to compete on Impact Wrestling’s TV tapings in February.
Last night on Impact, Mickie James announced that she is relinquishing the Impact Knockouts Championship. James said that she has to do what’s right for the business, the championship, and the locker room. She thanked the fans for believing her. James finally said that “Deonna, Jordynne…it’s your time now.”
Mickie James was supposed to compete against Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo in a triple-threat match for the Impact Knockouts Championship on this Sunday’s Rebellion pay-per-view. With James’ withdrawal, Grace and Purrazzo will now compete against each other for the title this Sunday.
.@MickieJames will not be cleared to compete at #Rebellion. A NEW Knockouts World Champion will be crowned THIS SUNDAY in Toronto!
