Matt Riddle became the hottest thing in WWE along with Randy Orton in the past couple of years. However, Riddle’s character became stale after they lost their RAW Tag Team Titles to The Usos on the May 20th, 2022 episode of SmackDown.
Last December, Matt Riddle was written off from WWE television after being attacked by Solo Sikoa. The Original Bro made his return on the April 3rd episode of Monday Night RAW. He was then paired with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for a brief period of time.
Last May, Matt Riddle started a storyline with Gunther. However, Riddle was unable to win the Intercontinental Title at Money in the Bank. He lost to Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match this past Monday on RAW.
Dave Meltzer recently stated that WWE management doesn’t want to push Matt Riddle due to him getting into trouble too often.
“I wonder what happened. You know, Kaiser’s not the guy you would expect to beat Riddle clean… Riddle seems to get into trouble too often. So he’s not the guy that they’re gonna build around or anything like that, but they’ve still kept him, you know, stronger than losing clean in the middle to Kaiser. But he did here. So, you know, as soon as I saw that, it’s like, ‘man, he’s lower than I thought he was in their minds.”
On Tuesday, Matt Riddle tweeted a video clip of his knockout victory over Dan Simmler on season 7 of The Ultimate Fighter. Riddle mocked WWE’s booking and stated that it’s easy to win a UFC fight than a match in WWE.
“Damn it’s easier to win real fights in the @ufc than win a match in WWE #brutal #bro #stallion #ufc #WWE”
Riddle posted another photo of him in the octagon and stated the following.
“Until you respect yourself others won’t respect you and that goes for all aspects of life, know your value!!! #bro #stallion #rudedude #abs #ufc #WWE”
