The men’s Royal Rumble match in 2022 was chaotic with Shane McMahon’s involvement, which led to the frustration of several backstage producers.
Brock Lesnar won the 2022 Royal Rumble match by entering at No. 30. Lesnar last eliminated Drew McIntyre. Before the Royal Rumble bout, The Beast defended his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at the show. The All Mighty won the title thanks to interference from Roman Reigns.
In an interview with Signed By Superstars, Matt Riddle claimed officials told him that he was going to win the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble. Riddle also claimed that Brock Lesnar told the officials that he was winning the Rumble after losing to Lashley.
“I was told at one point, yeah, I was gonna win the Rumble and everything else, and then what was it? Bobby Lashley beat Brock Lesnar because somebody came in and hit him with the belt. Then Brock came in, didn’t wanna do business with everybody, said he was winning, and then he won, and then none of the producers, nobody stood up to him, and they let him do it. I didn’t either. I didn’t either. I’m like, f-ck man, I’m just here.”
