Marlon Vera Issues Statement After Losing To Deiveson Figueiredo At UFC Abu Dhabi

This past Saturday, Marlon “Chito” Vera (23-10-1Draw) faced Deiveson Figueiredo (24-3-1Draw) in a bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Vera lost the fight via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).

It was Marlon Vera’s second consecutive loss this year. In March, Vera lost to UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley via unanimous decision at UFC 299.

On Instagram, Marlon Vera issued a statement about this past Saturday’s loss. Vera stated that he stepped back into the octagon too soon after the UFC 299 fight.

“I fail at myself last night. I thought I was ready. I felt good in the gym but at the end maybe I come back too quick after a hard title fight. Life doesn’t end here I still dream about big things I just need time to let go and reset.”
