CM Punk is a controversial and polarizing figure in the pro wrestling world. This past Saturday, Punk came back to WWE after being fired from AEW in September.
The former AEW World Champion faced numerous locker room incidents during his time in All Elite Wrestling. Therefore, some wrestlers are not on good terms with CM Punk.
A few hours after Punk’s return, a lot of news publications claimed that several talents were upset about Punk’s comeback. However, Zelina Vega, Bayley, Kofi Kingston, and many others had warmly welcomed the former AEW star. Back in April, Punk also mended the fence with several stars when he visited backstage at RAW.
On Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry sent a message to stars who were upset about CM Punk’s return. Henry said that they needed to adapt to the change. Henry added that they can leave if they don’t like the company’s decision. However, the business will grow with or without them.
“There’s some people at the top that’s not gonna be happy. Because they’re gonna get less minutes, they’re gonna have to acquiesce to the new addition to the company. And there’s a lot of people that would take their ball and go home. Hell, Steve Austin took his ball and went home before. Everybody always comes back. They always realize, ‘The business is bigger than me, I don’t wanna be on the wrong side’. And the ones that do, we don’t give a sh-t about them anyway. The ones, ‘Oh I’m gonna retire if this person comes back’. The ones that, ‘You know what, if he’s here, I don’t wanna be here’. Take your a– home then. Because the business is gonna roll and roll and roll with or without you.”
CM Punk is advertised for tonight’s WWE RAW in Nashville, Tennessee. Punk last appeared on the red brand on January 20th, 2014.
