Last month, John Cena made his return to WWE. Cena has competed in several matches since his return. During this short period of time, The GOAT worked with several NXT and main-roster talents to elevate their stocks.
The 16-time World Champion last competed at Fastlane, where he teamed up with LA Knight to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in a Tag Team match.
This past Friday on SmackDown, John Cena told Roman Reigns that one superstar has earned an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match. Cena then introduced LA Knight as Reigns’ next opponent.
On Busted Open Radio, AEW star and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed the opening segment of SmackDown. Mark criticized John Cena’s involvement in the Reigns/Knight storyline.
”The number one thing was [John Cena] drawing attention to himself. You cannot [do that] when something is going on in the ring. I remember I did that with Ron Simmons one time. Once. Because he said, ‘Shut the f–k up!’ on TV. [He meant,] ‘Don’t move, don’t say anything. I’m working.’ And I drew attention away from him, and I wasn’t supposed to say nothing so I shouldn’t have said nothing. We know the obvious reason why — because he’s John Cena. All of the antics and the ‘Hey, look at me’ — it took away from the segment.”
WWE Crown Jewel is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 4th at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns is slated to defend his title against “The Megastar” LA Knight at the event.
