LA Knight picked up the victory over The Miz at Payback PLE. John Cena endorsed him after the match. The Megastar is scheduled to face the A-Lister in a rematch from Payback this Friday on SmackDown.
Recently, PWInsider reported that WWE and LA Knight are negotiating a new deal. PWInsider also noted that the company wants to sign LA Knight to a five-year deal so they can continue Knight’s push going forward.
Fightful Select has provided an update on Knight and WWE’s contract negotiation. They noted that both parties have not been able to reach an agreement regarding the money.
“We’re told the two sides were far apart on money as of now, and that no deal has been agreed to, and doesn’t appear imminent, but they’ll keep negotiating.”
Fightful Select also stated that LA Knight’s push isn’t dependent on the new long-term deal. They added that the contracts of several stars are set to expire in the next year. Knight still has a year and a half left on his current deal.
