Kota Ibushi last competed on January 2nd at NOAH The New Year 2024, where he faced Naomichi Marufuji in the main event. The match went on for 33 minutes, and Ibushi picked up the victory.
According to Sports Hochi, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion injured both ankles early in the bout. However, Kota Ibushi continued to wrestle without getting medical assistance. He also went backstage alone after the bout. Due to severe pain, Ibushi called an ambulance and went to the hospital.
On X, Kota Ibushi issued the following statement in Japanese, which translated to English reads as follows:
“I was scammed by a place called C5 Clinic, which is spread all over the country, as I mentioned before. Take care of yourself, please.
I think NOAH will release information about my surgery, fractures and dislocations, etc. I’m sorry for the game, everyone. It’s all my fault.”
前呟いた全国展開しているC5クリニックという場所に詐欺にあった。みなさん気をつけてください。
