Last June, Ryan Garcia was arrested for damaging the Waldorf Astoria Hotel’s guest room and the hallway. In July, Garcia was charged with one count of misdemeanor vandalism.
On Tuesday, Judge James P. Cooper III dismissed Garcia’s misdemeanor charge of vandalism after the hotel representation informed the court that they received full compensation and were not seeking further action.
In an interview with USA Today, Ryan Garcia said, “I’m just thankful that we got a good result. And, yeah, just ready to get back on track and do better.”
The 26-year-old posted the following photo with his attorney, Michael Goldstein, outside the courthouse. He wrote the following in the description.
“CASE DISMISSED
Thank you Micheal Goldstein
Best attorney on the planet!!!!”

Goldstein issued the following statement to TMZ Sports.
“As stated back in July, we expected a favorable resolution of this matter and always viewed this through the lens of a civil case. This incident occurred a day after Mr. Garcia learned of his mother’s significant health issues and was under a tremendous amount of stress. He destroyed property that was ultimately paid for.
We appreciate the professionalism of the Beverly Hills Police Department, the Waldorf Astoria, and the court for granting our motion to dismiss the charges. Mr. Garcia continues to work on his own health as he prepares to get back into the ring.”
