Jon Jones Pleads Not Guilty To Misdemeanor Charges In Drug Testing Incident

On March 30th, UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was involved in an incident with drug-testing agents after they visited Jones’ home to collect samples. Jones was charged with assault and interference with communications.

MMA Fighting reported that Jones entered a plea of not guilty to a petty misdemeanor for assault and a misdemeanor for interference with communications during a virtual hearing in a New Mexico court on Wednesday.

Judge Brittany Maldonado Malott ordered Jon Jones not to break any laws, possess any weapons, or consume alcohol or illegal drugs as conditions of his release pending a bench trial. Malott also ordered Jones not to contact the alleged victims.

Crystal Martinez, who visited Jones’ home last March, claimed that Jon Jones “appeared agitated” after he was told to provide blood samples instead of urine. Martinez also claimed that Jones grabbed her phone and recorded them.
