Last month, John Cena made his shocking return to WWE at Money in the Bank PLE, where Cena announced that he would be retiring from in-ring competition in 2025. The 16-time world champion said during the post-show press conference that he is planning to wrestle until the end of next year.
In an interview with the Associated Press, John Cena stated that his skill level continues to drop year over year and is now a little bit slower, which is why he has decided to retire from WWE.
On the Club Shay Shay podcast, Cena said that he has signed a contract extension to stay with WWE for a long time.
“I have such a trustworthy relationship with them [WWE] over two decades. I am a champion of the brand. I love the company. It is my home, they are my family. Even after 2025, I’ve already signed an extension to remain a member of the WWE family for the near, mid, and long-term future. I don’t think there will be a beat of my heart where WWE doesn’t come out of.”
