Last December, Vince McMahon informed the WWE board that he wanted to return to the company. In January, McMahon returned to the WWE board as Executive Chairman despite the board of directors’ opposition.
The 77-year-old claimed that he wanted to sell the company. Recently, Bloomberg reported that McMahon is looking to sell World Wrestling Entertainment for $9 Billion.
Last week, CNBC reported that “WWE is set to meet with potential buyers for the company next month in preparation for first-round bids.”
In an interview with The Associated Press, John Cena was asked about Vince McMahon selling WWE. Cena made it clear that McMahon can do whatever he wants to do.
“That’s way above my pay grade. I just don’t know what’s going on with that. I love Vince McMahon. He’s everything you could want in a great friend, business partner, father, mentor. I love the man. But his business dealings are his business and what he shares with me, that’s between us. But I don’t know what’s going on with the corporate structure in the WWE or the creative direction of the WWE.”
In the same interview, John Cena gave his opinion about Vince McMahon’s misconduct allegation.
