Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Officially Announced

By The Spotlight StaffJanuary 27, 2023
Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Officially Announced

The boxing bout between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will take place on Sunday, 26th February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight is scheduled for a weight class of 185 pounds and for eight rounds.
In the co-main event, Badou Jack will face WBC Cruiserweight Champion Ilunga Makabu. The official fight card is to be announced later.

Paul and Fury were originally supposed to fight in December 2021 in Florida but Fury was unable to compete due to an illness. Therefore, Paul faced former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley in a rematch which resulted in The Problem Child taking a knockout victory.

On 6 August 2022, Paul was scheduled to fight Fury in New York but was nixed due to Fury’s immigration problems. In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Fury revealed that he and his brother Tyson Fury are banned from entering the United States. They are banned from entering the US after links to alleged Irish mob boss Daniel Kinahan emerged. It was announced on 7 July that Jake Paul was replaced by Hasim Rahman Jr. in the bout. Paul instead defeat Anderson Silva by a unanimous decision in October.

Both Paul and Fury have undefeated boxing records. Paul has a 6-0 record with 4 knockout wins. Fury has an 8-0 record with 4 knockout wins.
