In the past couple of weeks, a lot of rumors have been circulated on social media regarding Jade Cargill. Today, ESPN first reported and WWE confirmed that Cargill has signed a multi-year contract with the promotion. She will start her training today at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
ESPN hasn’t revealed whether Jade Cargill will start her WWE career on the main roster or NXT.
The 31-year-old began her pro wrestling career in AEW nearly three years ago. Jade Cargill made her first appearance in Tony Khan’s promotion on the November 11th, 2020 episode of Dynamite, interrupting Cody Rhodes. Cargill made her in-ring debut on the March 3rd, 2021 episode of Dynamite, where she teamed up with Shaq to defeat Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in a mixed tag-team match.
In January of last year, Jade Cargill became the inaugural TBS Champion by defeating Ruby Soho. Cargill held the title for 508 days before dropping it to Kris Statlander at Double or Nothing last May. Cargill’s final match in AEW was broadcast on the September 15th episode of AEW Rampage, where she lost to Statlander for the TBS Title.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque issued the following statement after Jade Cargill signed with the company.
“A dominant athlete who’s here to change the game…
Join me in welcoming the newest @WWE Superstar, @Jade_Cargill, to the @WWEUniverse.”
