Randy Orton has not been seen on WWE television for four months now. Orton last competed on the May 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where Orton and his tag team partner Riddle defended their RAW Tag Team Titles against The Usos. After Reigns helped Usos to pick up the victory, RK-Bro lost the match.
Matt Riddle then announced on WWE RAW that he was not sure he will reunite with Randy Orton again. Riddle said that Orton has been dealing with a severe back problem over the past couple of years.
Fightful Select reported that “things have gotten progressively worse, and WWE fears that Orton will be forced to undergo a surgery.”
Today, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that WWE is still worried about Randy Orton’s back issues, meaning that Orton could be out of action for the rest of the year.
There is a lot of concern regarding Orton’s back injury and its severity
In a recent interview with SportsKeeda, Randy Orton’s father Bob Orton provided an update on Orton’s injury.
He’s got a little bit of a back problem. I think he’ll take care of everything. You know with rehab and everything. After 20, you know, more than 20 years, wear and tear on the body is just, you know, too much.
Many fans are waiting to see Randy Orton back on WWE television. We hope The Viper could make his highly anticipated return on next year’s Royal Rumble.
We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
