On Wednesday, Professional Fighters League announced that it will launch PFL Africa in the second quarter of 2025. The company stated that PFL Africa will introduce a regular season, playoffs, and championship sport-season format featuring African fighters. All the events will be held on the African continent. PFL Africa will join PFL Europe and PFL MENA as part of the Professional Fighters League’s regional leagues.
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou, who signed a deal with PFL in May 2023, will serve as the chairman of PFL Africa.
Francis Ngannou had the following to say about his new role in PFL:
“I am excited and honored to serve as Chairman of PFL Africa, a league that will shape the very foundation of African MMA. As we have seen there is a great wealth of talent in Africa just waiting to be given a global stage. I am so very proud to give back to my homeland and to provide great content to a region with such a passionate and diverse fanbase.”
