Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle have been feuding for a long time. Rollins and Riddle are scheduled to come face-to-face on the upcoming Monday Night RAW at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN to hype their match at Extreme Rules.
WWE has added a special stipulation for their segment on RAW before another altercation. The company issued the following on its official website.
As a result of repeated altercations, a No Contact Clause has been put in place, which dictates that if either of them puts their hands on the other prior to entering the Fight Pit this Saturday, they will be removed from the match immediately.
Ariel Helwani of BT Sport reported that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will be the special guest referee for the Fight Pit match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle at WWE Extreme Rules on Saturday, October 8th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Later, WWE confirmed Helwani’s report and issued the following statement on their social media.
As reported by Ariel Helwani, MMA legend Daniel Cormier will serve as the special guest referee for Matt Riddle and Seth “Freakin” Rollins’ Fight Pit Match at Extreme Rules. Tune in this Monday night to RAW for more details.
Adding a former UFC Champion as the special guest referee at Extreme Rules will get a lot of attention from mainstream media to the WWE product. This is a wise move by Triple H.
