Erik Of The Viking Raiders Undergoes Neck Fusion Surgery

By The Spotlight StaffNovember 2, 2023
Erik Of The Viking Raiders Undergoes Neck Fusion Surgery

Erik and Ivar joined WWE NXT in 2018. The tag team had a successful run on the NXT brand. A year later, the duo made their main roster debut on the April 15th, 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW as The Viking Experience. WWE changed their name to “Viking Raiders” a week later. Erik and Ivar won the NXT and RAW Tag Team Titles during their WWE tenure.

The Viking Raiders last competed on the September 11th Main Event tapings, where they defeated Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. WWE is pushing Ivar as a singles star due to Erik’s health situation.

On Instagram, Erik announced that he has successfully undergone neck fusion surgery for C6 and C7 vertebrae. He thanked WWE, the doctor, the staff at Andrew Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center, and the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

“I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible.

C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now.

I’m excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online.”
