WWE created the WWE Independent Development (WWE ID) program to provide support for independent wrestlers and wrestling schools. Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling, Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Factory, and several other wrestling schools have entered the ID program.
In an interview with WFAA, Dustin Rhodes was asked if his wrestling school, “Rhodes Wrestling Academy,” could be entering the WWE ID program. Rhodes said that his school was not invited to the program because he was signed to AEW. Rhodes added that he would like to see AEW President Tony Khan launching something similar to WWE ID.
“I don’t think through WWE because I’m here, and I think that’s probably the reason they haven’t reached out. That’s because I’m contracted with All Elite Wrestling. I would love for Tony [Khan] to do that with us where we have a little type thing; that would be kind of cool for some of our schools, especially me since I’m like one of the originals here.”
