In 2022, Dustin Poirier defeated Michael Chandler by submission (rear-naked choke) in round 3 at UFC 281. However, Poirier accused Chandler of committing multiple fouls during the fight. Chandler acknowledged Poirier’s claims but said they were unintentional.
Recently, The Diamond expressed his desire to compete in the octagon for one final time, naming Islam Makhachev and Conor McGregor as potential opponents. Chandler responded to Poirier’s post by saying, “No thanks – retire man…we good.”
On Wednesday, Dustin Poirier appeared on the MMA Hour, where he responded to Michael Chandler.
“Who the f–k is ‘we?!’ You just go here, buddy. You’re not one of us. You’re not ‘we.’ I’ve been here. ‘We’re good.’ Who’s we? Welcome to the UFC, dude. You’ve got one win in the UFC. He’s not one of us. I’ve been cutting my teeth in the UFC since January of 2011/2010. He just got here. Who is we? He’s speaking for the lightweight division? Muscle Milk Mike needs to chill.”
“No thanks” – retire man…we good.
