WWE NXT No Mercy is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 30 at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Dominik Mysterio was slated to defend his NXT North American Championship against Mustafa Ali at the show.
Ali earned the title opportunity by defeating Dragon Lee on the September 5th episode of NXT. However, Ali was released by the company on Thursday.
Dominik Mysterio appeared on a podcast, called “In The Kliq” where he was asked about Mustafa Ali’s departure from WWE. Dominik said that it’s hard to see talented wrestlers lose their jobs.
“Yeah, it’s a very unfortunate situation that very talented people have to go through situations like this. At the end of the day, it’s out of our control. We just do whatever we can to put our best foot forward. But as far as No Mercy goes, I’m just gonna have to wait and see who my opponent will be.”
Dominik Mysterio is set to face Dragon Lee for the NXT North American Title this Monday on RAW.
