Recently, former WWE and ECW wrestler Stevie Richards stated in an interview that an AEW agent told him that the wrestlers don’t listen to their advice.
Earlier this month, AEW World Champion MJF stated on X that the wrestlers who succeeded within a few years don’t need to listen to others who spend the majority of their time at the lower level.
On X, a fan asked FTR’s Dax Harwood if he and Cash Wheeler were getting advice from veterans. The fan asked the question outlining Dutch Mantell’s interview.
Dax Harwood stated that Mantell is completely inaccurate. Harwood added that he is still getting advice from Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson.
“1,000,000% inaccurate @dirtydutchman1. I asked Tully weekly for advice or what he thought about our match. I STILL speak to Arn right now asking his advice.”

Taz also noticed the post and stated that a lot of young wrestlers were asking for advice from him.
“My 2 cents. I been in AEW from almost the beginning of it starting. I have had MANY wrestlers in their 20’s & 30’s (1 in their 40’s) ask me for advice regarding their matches, as recent as yesterday! Also, the respect I’ve been shown at every show from the younger talent has always been awesome.”

In another post, Taz stated that he doesn’t see young wrestlers not approaching veterans to get advice as disrespectful.
“One more thing, just because a current wrestler might not approach a veteran/legendary wrestler does not mean that wrestler is disrespectful, it doesn’t mean that that wrestler doesn’t want to get better. It could be that they are intimidated, or they want to show that they can stand on their own 2 feet. That was me when I was younger.”

Don Callis replied to Taz’s post and stated that he has given Kenny Omega a lot of advice to succeed in his career.
“I gave Kenny a lot of advice that directly benefited his career. However Kenny started thinking he was smarter than me and knew more. He isn’t and he doesn’t.”
