Darren Till made his professional boxing debut this past Saturday at Social Knockout 3 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The former UFC fighter faced Mohammad Mutie in a four-round exhibition match.
During the second round, Mutie complained to the referee that Till hit the back of his head. Mutie took a few minutes of rest. The referee then awarded the TKO victory to Darren Till. Mutie wasn’t happy with the decision and got into an altercation with Till.
On Monday, Darren Till appeared on the MMA Hour, where he discussed the incident.
“Mate, you’re an MMA fighter, and you’re a fighter. This sh-t happens. You’re rolling around on the floor for 20 minutes? Like, paramedics in there? And I’m just looking in disbelief; I’m like, ‘Is this really happening in my return?’ I just couldn’t believe it. I just think he just wanted a way out. He just felt my power in there; he knew I was finding my range, I was probably going to knock him out in that round. That’s what I was thinking in my head. And then, yeah, get the win off that, and then hell ensued.”
