Conor McGregor was supposed to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last June. Unfortunately, the fight was postponed to later this year due to McGregor’s toe injury. As of now, McGregor is fully recovered from the injury and ready to step into the octagon.
During the Contender Series post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked if he met Conor McGregor for a discussion about a potential fight. White said that McGregor won’t be fighting this year.
“We talked. We talked. We didn’t meet up, but we talked, and yeah, he wants to fight. So, we’ll figure it out. [But] not this year. He won’t fight this year.”
On X, the former two-division champion responded to the UFC CEO as follows:
“Ah Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event! Come on now, what’s this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. DECEMBER! Tell Dana and UFC WE WANT DECEMBER! WE DESERVE DECEMBER!”
