During UFC Vegas 67 post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White announced that Francis Ngannou was released from the company and stripped of the Heavyweight Title. White also said that the company offered Francis a contract that makes him the highest-paid heavyweight fighter in the company’s history but Francis turned the deal down.
“We offered Francis a deal that would’ve made him the highest paid heavyweight in the history of the company, more than [Brock] Lesnar, more than anybody and he turned the deal down.”

On 19 December 2015, Francis Ngannou made his UFC debut at UFC on Fox 17, where he knocked out Luis Henrique in the second round. At UFC 260, Ngannou became the UFC Heavyweight Champion after defeating Stipe Miocic by knockout in the second round. Ngannou successfully defended Heavyweight Title against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 by unanimous decision in January of last year. He has a 17-3 professional mma record with 12 knockout wins and 4 submission victories.
