Merab Dvalishvili is scheduled to face Sean O’Malley for the Bantamweight Championship in the main event of UFC 306 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On Tuesday, Dvalishvili suffered a cut during a training session. The 33-year-old posted the video on Instagram and announced that he is not pulling out of the fight.
“Calm down – its all good- just a little training injury. Never pulled out of a fight – and Never will! I’m coming for you O’Malley – stronger than ever 🦾🇬🇪🇲🇽🇺🇸 Vamos!”
On X, Sean O’Malley responded to Dvalishvili’s minor injury as follows:
“This little f–kin rat better not pull out I swear to god.”
During the Contender Series post-fight press conference, UFC CEO & President Dana White slammed Merab Dvalishvili for publicly announcing the injury.
“The whole world knows about Merab’s cut. He posted it. Our guys are so dumb, it’s next-level unbelievable. All the stuff I talk about boxing, what I will give boxing, is when something happens in a camp, man, let me tell you what. It does not leak. Our guys can’t f–king wait to throw it up on social media. It’s a small cut. It’s no big deal. But obviously, it needed to be posted.”
Dana White just went OFF on Merab for posting about his cut 😬
