Dana White Explains Why Jon Jones Will Fight Stipe Miocic Instead Of Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones is expected to make his return to the octagon this November to defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Stipe Miocic. However, many fans are not interested in the fight. They want to see Jones face Tom Aspinall for the Undisputed Title.

Last month, Aspinall defeated Curtis Blaydes via KO in round 1 to retain the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 304. Aspinall will be the backup for the fight between Jones and Miocic.

In an interview with Yahoo Sports, UFC CEO & President Dana White explained why Jon Jones will fight Stipe Miocic instead of Tom Aspinall.

“Here’s the thing, when you say Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall, does that mean we’re saying that Stipe [Miocic] doesn’t deserve that fight? This fight was supposed to happen, Jon [Jones] got injured. Stipe has paid his dues and has been here forever. My job is to make the biggest fights that I can possibly make. I know everybody wants to see Aspinall, but those two are gonna fight and whoever wins, hopefully Aspinall is next.”
