UFC 304 took place last night at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. Muhammad Mokaev (13-0-1NC) faced Manel Kape (19-7) in a flyweight bout on the preliminary card of the show. Mokaev picked up the victory over Kape via unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 30–27).
Before the fight, Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape got into an altercation at the hotel. Both also had a heated confrontation during the weigh-in. Last night’s bout was Mokaev’s final fight on his UFC contract. During the post-fight press conference, Dana White said that he wouldn’t offer Mokaev a new deal.
“Yeah, that’s what we tell guys. We tell guys how to fight. We’ve been doing this for a long f–king time. I’m sure one the matchmakers probably said something to him or whatever. The matchmakers aren’t big fans of his for many different reasons. There’s a lot of people who shoot takedowns in this business, a lot of guys that fight with that type of style. But it’s a lot more than just that.
He’s not under contract anymore. I think the PFL is going to get a great undefeated guy. Good luck to him.”
