Last month, CM Punk and his trainer Ace Steel got into a backstage fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks during AEW All Out media scrum. As of result, Tony Khan then suspended everyone who was involved in the fight and The Elite and Punk were stripped of their respective titles. Recently, Ace Steel was fired from AEW.
In the past several weeks, a lot of stories came out from different sides about the incident. Now we have received a story from CM Punk’s side.
Wrestling Inc has reported that CM Punk’s comments during the All Out media scrum were not the reason for the backstage fight. They noted that the brawl began after Punk’s locker room door accidentally hit Larry’s face.

From the perspective of Punk’s camp, the scrum itself — which became the talk of the wrestling world due to Punk’s comments on Colt Cabana, “Hangman” Adam Page, and The Elite — didn’t seem like a big deal, and only escalated once Punk’s locker room door was “kicked in” and accidentally hit Punk’s dog, Larry, in the face. At a pre-scheduled veterinarian appointment a few days later, Punk was informed that two of Larry’s teeth had been knocked loose and had to be removed.
Following the altercation, AEW officials asked Punk to stay silent until the investigation ends and Punk has agreed to do so.
