Last week, one of CM Punk’s close friends Dax Harwood stated on his podcast that Punk misses pro wrestling and he wants to come back. As of now, a rumor circulating on social media is that Punk indeed will make his return to AEW.
Recently, All Elite Wrestling trademarked “AEW Collision” under entertainment services at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. AEW Collision reportedly be the third flagship show of the company and will start in June. CM Punk is rumored to be the major star of that show.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast reported that CM Punk is willing to work with The Elite, but Young Bucks aren’t keen on working with Punk. Zarian also noted that Kenny Omega is a little bit interested in working with Punk but he has a hesitation. Zarian further noted that Punk will start a feud with Chris Jericho after making his return to AEW.
“He [Punk] had recently said he wants to return to AEW and he wants to make it work. The issue here is he’s willing to work with The Elite members. I know as of the time I was told and early this week, there was no intention on the other side. Maybe Kenny [Omega] a little bit more than The Bucks but they do not want to work with him. There’s been no dialogue between the two sides either about sitting down and making this work. The way it was alluded to me is that the program will probably be Punk and Jericho in some capacity. I don’t know if FTR’s involved or the Jericho Appreciation Society is involved…He’s [Jericho] willing to make this work.”
