Charlotte Flair last competed at WrestleMania 39, where she dropped the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley. The match received a lot of praise from the fans.
Following the match, the 14-time Women’s Champion put Rhea Ripley over and stated that “I know in my heart the championship is in good hands.”
In an interview with Boardroom, Charlotte Flair stated that she took time away from WWE to focus on something important to her.
“For me, I went from having never any off-days to getting injured last year after WrestleMania and being off for seven months, and then now off again for a couple weeks for something that I needed to take care of, so it’s a blessing and a curse. Like, no one wants to be injured, but having that first time off for that extended amount of time, I think was definitely healthy for my mindset.”
Last year, Charlotte Flair took a long hiatus from WWE after the 2022 WrestleMania Backlash. Charlotte then made her return on the December 30th episode of SmackDown and defeated Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Title.
