Claudio Castagnoli, also known as Cesaro, quietly exited from WWE after his contract expired a few months ago. Since then, he has not joined any wrestling promotions, and some reported that Cesaro’s asking price is too high.
Recently Claudio Castagnoli has trademarked his ring name as “CSRO.” He is using “ClaudioCSRO” as his Twitter handle’s username, and WWE still owns the ”Cesaro” name. Cesaro’s final WWE match took place on the February 11th episode of SmackDown, where he lost to Happy Corbin.
Cesaro is rumored to return to the squared circle at Forbidden Door pay-per-view tonight. Therefore, the “Cesaro” name has been trending on social media this week. It happened after Bryan Danielson’s announcement on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Danielson stated that he could not compete in the match against Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door and next week’s Blood & Guts Dynamite. Danielson further stated that he would be choosing Sabre Jr opponent at Forbidden Door.
Fightful Select reported that Cesaro has been training for his in-ring return in Orlando at Flatbacks Wrestling School, which is owned by Tyler Breeze and AEW star Shawn Spears. However, Fightful did not confirm that Cesaro would debut at Forbidden Door.
Many fans expected to see Claudio Castagnoli as Zack Sabre Jr’s opponent at Forbidden Door because Castagnoli is a good friend of Bryan Danielson.
